Manuport Logistics is an international logistics provider operating across multiple transport modes and regions. They offer end-to-end logistics across sea, air, road and rail with over 35 offices globally and an annual handling volume exceeding 345,000 TEU in sea freight alone.

Cnext supported MPL with an initial strategic assessment of how its customer portal could evolve. The work focused on defining a high level blueprint and recommendations for a future digital control tower. This phase concentrated on opportunities and direction rather than detailed design or implementation.

Turning fragmented data to proactive processes

MPL’s operational information is scattered across several systems and carriers. Planners receive frequent status requests from customers during busy periods. The core question was how MPL could consolidate data and provide a real time, more proactive experience for both customers and internal teams.

The blueprint outlines how MPL’s portal could mature into a more intelligent, insight driven environment. Key elements include:

• consolidated real time visibility of shipment events

• early warning indicators for potential delays or operational risks

• structured exception management to reduce manual follow up

• sustainability metrics linked to transport choices

This vision serves as a strategic reference. The detailed requirements for analytics, forecasting, and decision support still need to be defined in a later phase with MPL.

A technical foundation for MPL’s next stage

The proposed direction builds on MPL’s existing Microsoft ecosystem. It includes an Azure based integration layer to unify operational data, a Microsoft Fabric platform built around a medallion structure for reusable data products, and Dynamics 365 with Power Platform components for workflow and customer interaction. AI enabled insights were identified as a possible next step once the data and business requirements are clarified.

What this unlocks for MPL

The blueprint gives MPL a clear path to evolve from reactive information sharing toward a more proactive logistics service model. It establishes the foundation for lower manual workload, faster handling of disruptions, stronger customer engagement, and better visibility into cost and performance drivers.
